Same questions. What is the cargo capacity of the tow vehicle? What is the loaded tongue weight of the Trailer? How much family and stuff do you take?

The brand of trailer is a moot point if it has too much loaded tongue weight.

Those Big Foots are sweet trailers that is for sure.

In the 17 foot you don't need much of an AC to turn it into a meat locker in about 10 minutes. In the Okanagan where they are built it gets REAL hot.

TO the OP. Are you planning on doing a custom build or are you going to get something off a lot. (Many go with custom build). Are you going to buy it in Canada or in the USA.

The factory tours are kinda cool if you have the opportunity.

This looks like a nice trailer and should be a good match for your 4Runner. I prefer FB models because where we usually camp, the view out the back is better. Sitting at the table with a cup of coffee in the morning is pretty special. Good luck. Sounds like you are on the right track.

If you buy the trailer you will love it. My BigFoot 25B25RQ had a brochure weight of 4,800 pounds. Inside there was a build sheet that had weight adds for the options. They added weight for the dual pane windows, the bedspread, the mattress upgrade, the entry steps, the stove burner cover and on and on. The 4,800 pound trailer came from the factory at 5,200 pounds dry. Guess I'm trying to say don't trust the brochure weight. It would be nice to have it weighed but with BigFoot demand you may have to act fast. The BigFoot will be 8' wide so you will need some mirror extensions. The other fiberglass trailers are narrower.

When I sold my trailer (albeit larger) I had to turn away the first three offers due to their insufficient tow vehicles. I felt a half ton truck was the minimum for a 25 ft. BigFoot as mine towed at 6,000 pounds. With a brochure weight less than 2k and a GVW less than 5k I'm guessing the 4 Runner will handle it pretty well assuming you don't get carried away loading it up. Good luck. Fine trailers.

Very likely could be set up to tow nicely, but will require careful set up with a quality WD hitch to work well with the four runner.

EDIT: correct me if I'm wrong OP, but as I recall the 2014 four runner is a body on frame chassis ?
These 4.0L V6 gas engines seem to hit a real sweet spot in overall use as well. If so, a very sturdy platform from which to start.
