black water tank

As noted the Horst Miracle probes are nearly perfect. They're worth the effort. They will install in the same holes as the stock sensors, just swap them one at a time to keep the wire colors straight. The stock sensors have a lock nut and I had to grind an inexpensive open end wrench to loosen it.

Our Roo has 30 gallon waste tanks with practically no depth under the toilet. This leads to a "white mountain" in the tank unless a good amount of flush water is used. And a good flush fills the tank fairly quickly. I find the tank dumps more completely if I let it sit a few days with a good enzyme/bacteria treatment to breakdown all the TP. The drive home helps too by sloshing the tank around. Almost two weeks at Gettysburg ending a week ago on a full service site required dumping every other day not because the tank was full but to move the white mountain toward the drain. Complete dump and flush last night with the macerator pump shows "E" on the tank gauge.

If you mean clean the sensors, they make a few products that are used to clean tanks, this one is simple and it's said to work well and requires no modifications.

Then there are wands, and also sprayer systems that you install by drilling a hole into the tank and installing.

I've got the Hydroflush and don't care for it and don't bother using it. If the sensors bothered me I'd replace them. For just back flushing to clean things I'd try the Flush King.

Having dual 40 gallon black tanks would be great on our hybrids.

So we have been using it. Seems like it is getting full. If it doesn't drain tomorrow how do you unclog these? Thanks for all the advice

Stock black tank sensors only seem to read empty unless I flush the tank with a spray wand. Debris on the sensors is why.

I installed the Horst Miracle probes on in my black tank and they work WAY better. It was a simple install since on mine the new probes fit right in the existing probe holes. They aren't perfect, but they work a good 80% better.

Buy Horst probes, they work great due to a shield over the probe preventing toilet paper from giving false reading. They are easy to install and REALLY work. You can google their site.

Toilet 'burps'..time to dump black
Shower/sink start to drain slower..time to dump grey
Water pump goes 'burrrrrrup'.......should have already added water to fresh water tank

My black tank sensor is wonky too, grey is also iffy. I tried the ice cube method on the drive home last weekend, we'll see if it's any better now.
