Brakes
I’ve got the standard 10” brakes on Lippert 3500 axles. They seemed a bit weak on our last trip so I went out to adjust them yesterday. Port side went fine, got them to lock up, then backed off. Starboard side, I couldn’t get either to lock up and couldn’t turn the adjuster any more. Took off the drum and at least 3/16” on the shoes. Played with the adjuster, but it wouldn’t go any further. Put it all back together and there was slight rubbing on the drum.
Very little, if any braking including the breakaway, which has 12.3 volts when activated. There is humming from each wheel when brakes or the breakaway applied. The brake controller puts out the same voltage at the A-frame as is displayed on the controller.
Unless there’s something I missed, I’m going to replace all the assemblies tomorrow. I’ll do bearings at the same time.
Any other ideas or checks would be greatly appreciated.
