Broke a stabiload bump stop

Looks like I sheared off a bump stop/stabiload sometime during/after my trip up the Alcan last month. I noticed when I was loading the camper onto the truck for a quick trip to Anchorage last weekend. Just finished emailing documents and pictures to torklift, I believe they are going to ship me one to replace the missing one.

Has anyone else sheared off a stabiload? I found the bolt sitting in the depression of the bump stop bracket, wedged between the frame and the bracket.

  • Great company, they replaced one even when it was my fault. I tried to pay them for it and they wouldn't accept payment. They even covered shipping. I have since spent a lot more money with them, and always highly recommend them.

    Seriously?

My TL hitch and tie-downs are as rusted and flaked as it can be, after exposure for 7 years to our WI winters. The though that they might do something- anything- about that would be amazing.

I was wondering about having to replace it all soon. I suppose I should shoot them an e-mail.

Mine will be 1 year old next month....and even though I clean and coat them in CorrosionX after every use, they're still rusting. The costs associatied with getting those to them though...wouldn't be worth it to me.

  • I've already contacted them, and I've been told a replacement will be on the way soon.
  • Torklift has a lifetime guarantee on their parts. Contact them for a replacement. I don't remember if there was a torque specification on the hardware when I installed mine, you may want check how tight you wrenched these down. I have seen the pads split or separate from the metal backing plate and Torklift just needed a picture sent to get replacements.
  • When I was swapping my Stable Load's from my 08' to my 13' F 350 the studs broke on two, but still had about an inch n a half of usable thread left. Seeing they were still usable,I was prepared to install them, but said to myself why not give Torklift a call. They asked me to send them pics. of the broken studs which I did. They sent me another complete set(4) even though only two were now a little short and still very usable. This is one company that that stand's behind their product's 100%, I can't say enough about their customer service, and lifetime warranty.
