Broken key, locked out of TT, no spare :(

Just returned from a trip and my wife said she couldn't get the TT unlocked. I tried it and sure enough, the deadbolt was stuck. I tried to turn the key (didn't even use that much force) and the darn key broke. Sadly, the previous owners didn't give us a spare and of course, of all the times I swore I'd get a copy made, I never did. All windows are tightly shut. No, I can't get inside the bed via storage. I *may* be able to get a kid to squeeze through rear storage but not sure I can make it happen. Any ideas? Bust a window and replace later? ๐Ÿ˜ž Even so, can it be unlocked from inside?

Locksmith?

Much appreciated.

A simple set of Lock Picks gets you inside in a couple of minutes.
Every Locksmith worth his salt can get in quickly.

When I went to pick up my Vintage Prowler, the door was locked...
It wasn't locked when I looked at it...
Fortunately I have a set of picks. Took about 5 minutes.
I also got an extra $100 off the asking price.

With the door unlocked I took out the lock and carried it to a locksmith.
They made me several keys.

My advise is don't break anything.

A couple of years ago in a large campground in Tennessee,
a man bribed a skinny kid to crawl thru the hatch and open his trailer.
Amazing what a kid will do for $20...

If you call an auto locksmith don't watch him/her. You'll horrified see how easy it is to open a "lock."

That may be the direction we'll be going. And I guess I'll need to order a whole new lock and keys and replace it.

+1 on electronic keypad lock replacement.

Glad you got it open!

A few decades ago, my FIL was in his TT about to take a shower when he realized that he left something, I don't recall what, in his (unlocked) truck that he needed for his shower. He was in his altogether already, but it was dark outside with no lights in the area, so he opened the trailer door and hustled to the truck. The wind caught the trailer door and swung it shut. He had, out of habit, locked the trailer door as he was exiting.

Since it was unthinkable that he should knock on another trailer door in his current state of dishabille, he just got the tire iron from his truck and popped the door open. He said he would just deal with the broken door later (when he was dressed).

I went with the number pad lock (RVLock). Made it easier for us and the kids to come and go at different times.

We had that happen when we had a hybrid, but that was an easy solution.

My friend lock their self out of their TT or lost the keys or something. He dropped his 5 years old down through the roof vent.

I did the kid thing. Thankfully, I had a window that I could get open with a butter knife. Then I walked around the campground till I found a kid willing to help and shoved him through the window. I gave him 10 bucks and he was a happy camper... So was I.

I did that once and called AAA... locksmith came out and he picked the broken key out... I did have a spare to open the door, so 1/2 of your problem. Maybe locksmith could get the door unlocked while he is there?

If you break a window, break the one in the door. They're cheap at less than $35 and available at RV parts places.

Our deadbolt broke, we had to break the door window and still couldn't get the deadbolt to release. Had to drill the lock out. New window, lock and labor ended up being $270..good luck!

If the whole key is broken into maybe you can turn the key using a small flat blade screwdriver...

Enter via a roof vent? Even if you break it, cheaper than a window.
