Building a shop for our travel trailer

We are finally starting on our shop. We have 8 acres and are putting in a road, well, septic, power, and a 40 x 60 insulated shop. The shop will be the new home for our travel trailer and our weekend get away. We are very excited to finally start. Anyone else doing something similar? Anyone have any pointers?

Here are few pictures.

Experience without good judgment is worthless; good judgment without experience is still good judgment!

Interesting thread... I posted a thread a while back regarding those of us who have shops/RV garages.... I was looking or a sticky we could post pics/ideas in.....

Moderators (like usual) totally ignored my request. They must have been too busy editing images down to 640 pixels wide...... :R it's a full time job editing threads with wide pics ya know.... :R :R

Instead of ignoring the guidelines, making troll posts, and making more work for us VOLUNTEER moderators, why don't you just post the correct sized pictures in the first place?:R

The number of stickies in each forum is limited by the admins of the forum and is not up to the mods discretion.

Another jealous guy.
Ideas - Might be to late but I would always do run radiant heat in the floor even if you don't get the furnace for it now. (Geothermal)
AC
Power Vents up high for cooling high ceilings.
Metal I beam for a hoist runner.
Bathroom & shower
On demand hot water heater (tankless)
Plenty of exterior lights
Hot and cold spickets as others have said
All metal beam supports to avoid lallys or posts if possible inside
Roof over outside door and garage doors
Roof overhang atleast a foot on the side walls
Possible roof for carport next to one sidewall for shaded outdoor area
I like the idea of a separate room for gas and other items with only an exterior door.
Spray foam every exterior wall and ceiling/attic area

Good Luck and hope to follow you along this project.

Run 50a service no matter what service your camper is. Use a dogbone to drop it to 30a. That way, you don't have to run two services.

Drive through is an excellent idea.
