bumper holes

I've always wondered what these holes on either side of the license plate are for, Anyone know?

Not referring to the mail slot hole above the license plate

After looking behind the bumper cover i see that the top of the hole is part of the bracket that holds it all together. But why the open holes and the plastic cut outs for it?
  • Yep, where the tow hooks would go. And seeing as how it is a GM I would get them on there ASAP! ;)

    Ouch!

Hand covering the license plate. I'm with the others on tow hook locations.

  • Well that makes sense. thanks guys. Are there any other attachments that would go in those slots? bull bar?

Bull bar or winch mount bumper probably connects to the frame using the tow hook mounts.
