A local dealer has a 2012 F350 Lariat SRW with the 6.7 PowerStroke engine with 34,000 miles. Immaculate new condition and loaded up. 11,500 gvwr package. He's asking $45k
Is this a Ford dealer? How much warranty period are they giving you? Have you ran a carfax type report?. Even if all the above pass, the price is very high IMO.
This will be my first diesel and am wondering what maintenance would need to be done on it since it already has 34k miles?
:B Hope your enjoying the Blue font, anyway might google a CP.4 HPFP :W Or valves. Not sure either is a maintenance item, but....
Great looking truck and I wish you the best. They sure sell a ton of em!
Thanks!

Be sure to have the antifreeze checked regularly.
For some strange reason, the ford diesels are really finicky about antifreeze. It even has a warning light on it. None of the other brands have this issue.
What is terrible IMO, is that the standards for this have changed over the years, with different testing kits/methods and antifreeze formulations. It is so confusing that I have read many reports of the Dealers not doing it right.
Then there is the latest issue to crop up.Rough running while in REGEN.
The fix is to remove the head on the regen side, and replace all the exhaust valves and seals...I have long had the theory that Fords regen fix for the 2011s, was problematic, as I felt that a lot of it was caused by valve seal leakage. (I posted this many times back then) Popular thinking at the time was that it was leaking by the rings...
Now they have a technical bulletin out on it and are fixing the trucks that it happens to if they are still under warranty.
Hmmm. Maybe Ford should hire me to troubleshoot their design:B.
Pretty sure I can fix their antifreeze issues real easy.
