Spent the day visiting several local tire shops...I am pretty tight entering my garage, so looking to probably stay stock size 265/70/R17. One shop swore by Firestones (Transforce). Another store suggested BFG AT's. Another shop also likes BFG's (Rugged Trail T/A maybe?). This is my first time replacing the tires on the truck, so it's a lot of info to digest. I know a lot of people order online and take them to be installed...would be a lot easier to just go to a local store.Anyway, any comments on those listed or others? We tow five or six trips a year, and prob. 90% of the time I never leave the road. I would like something more aggressive-looking than my stock Michelins, but I can't go much taller (garage). I have been told I should get 10-ply if possible? Also, we live in WV, so weather can be an issue.A friend of mine swears by Nitto (Grapplers?). I was just surfing around on the net and noticed WM carries them...I never considered going there for tire, but who knows??Thanks for any input!!!

I've currently in the same boat: looking for tires for the dodge. I've decided on the Good Year Silent Amour. They are snow rated and 10 ply. The reviews look good and it looks to be a decent tire with a very good warranty. I have had terrible luck with BFG, if you go that route, the BFG All Terrain KOs are the only tire they have worth getting in my opinion.Michelin tires also get very good reviews and would likely be my second choice.

Have BFG Rugged Trail T/A on my Dodge now. Bought them used just after I bought the truck with slicks, I put 35k on the BFGs that were about 70% tread; they aren't on the wear bars yet.I picked up a smoking deal (5 245/85/17 for $500) BFG Rugged Trails that will be going on the truck when I finally wear these downs. FWIW, I have the 2nd set of the Rugged Trails on our '05 Ford Escape. They have good wear, good wet, good snow, not the best for offroad.For a more aggressive tread the General Grabber AT is a good alternative to the BFG ATs.

If your looking for AT type tires, might also want to check out the Cooper ATPs.

I settled on a set of Firestone Transforce HT's for my F250. So far at only 5k miles, all is well. They sing more than the Continentals they replaced but not loud at all. They're round and well balanced with very little weight. One wheel has no weights on it. I got the raised white letters 'cause I'm old and still think they're cool. :B

I have had 2 sets of Cooper AT3's and loved them. My son and step son also have them and swear by them...quiet, great traction and wear very well.My 2013 Ram came with Firestone Transforce and the seem to be very good, but they spin a little in the rain up hill at a stoplight. I will be going back tothe Coopers when the firestones wear out

Just removed a set of BFG's that were off a 07 Ram factory tires and wheels. They had 105K and were still good for 10K before hitting the wear bars. The same tires went 85K with 1/4" tread and I sold the tires and wheels to a friend. I also got 120K out of Michelins.

If you truly want only the winter type tires, like a bridgeston blizzak or equal. I am only recalling two that work for trucks. Bridgestones WInter Dueler, altho it may be called something else by now, and the Cooper one mentioned.

If you want a year around traction tire that will work quite well in snow, THEN the M55 is 2nd to none, and I would bet every bit as good as the Winter Dueler which I have run on an AWD safari van. My dually has them on the rear only, and I have gone places I should not have in rwd with the factory GM locker. I do need 4wd upon occasion.......but the snow traction is real decent! I am also NOT studded, altho it is legal where I am to have metal studs. I prefer to chain up if it is that bad out!

BFG Rugged trail's is what i've been running on my truck for 75k miles. I am on my 2nd set, they wear very evenly, seem to last forever, are quiet and good in 90% of terrain. They leave a little to be desired offroad, but on the highway they are my first choice.

Stay away from those , had a set on my 05 f350 super duty , last maybe 40,000km ( that's 25,000 miles )... Soft and junk, we also have them on our cab and chassis f350s at work an they don't last

I ended up buying the Michelin LTX A/T2......good-looking, highly rated tires.

Death wobble is rarely from a set of tires. Its usually worn ball joints,control arm bushings,track bar bushings,etc.

The Michelin at2 or the bfg rugged trail. both not too aggressive but will get the job done and both slow to wear. My dually has the the ltx ms2 But I am experiencing a lot of Squirm (I guess replaced whole front end and had 3 alignments and still all over the road) But I had the other 2 on other trucks and was happy with them and my buddies and brother have the other 2. My brother put like 70 k on the rugged trails on his 3500 srw Dodge Diesel 4x4 and my other buddy has had the Michelin AT2 at least 4 years on his D max 4x4 4 door long bed. I knew a guy that got 90 k on the LTX ms with an extended cab Dodge diesel 4x4 long bed.
