Camper mods needed for upgrade to Dually?

We have a 2012 811 Artic Fox with single slide out, on a 06 Dodge 2500 SRW short bed.

We are upgrading to a 2015 Ram 3500 DRW short bed.
What modifications do we need on the camper or its jacks?
Thanks!

  • Great to hear the Reico swingouts work!. We ordered them already.

We live on Bainbridge Island and do a lot of dry camping all around the state. Any suggestions for little fishing lakes in Eastern Wash?
  • I use the Rieco swingouts on my Silverado Dually.

Where in Washington are you located?
  • Great info!. It looks like the EZ Swing should work for us.
    Appreciate the help!.
When I get the photo thing figured out I will post pic of the new setup.
  • I sold my 2005 F250 Powerstroke locally in two months with the Torklift tie downs, SuperHitch, Firestone air bags, Rancho shocks and 19.5" wheels. I kept the FastGuns (sold to a forum member since I needed short ones), SuperTruss (used it on my new SuperHitch Magnum) and StableLoads (upper ones will fit, but lower ones need to find a home). My previous setup is overkill for the new owner that is only pulling a bumper pull travel trailer but should give them long live and good stability.

With my RT swing out brackets, I have plenty of room to back in the 8' wide flat bed. I am in Portland this extended weekend and heading north toward Everett/Marysville on Sunday - If you are on the wet side of the state, we might be able to meet up and you can check out the brackets.

  • Thanks, we were looking at Rieco Titan EZ Swing brackets for the front of the camper. Now we need to make more measurements to see if we need a spacer too.

We need to make the adjustments before picking up the truck next week. The 06 goes as a trade in.

Next question, suggestions for best place to sell the commercial tires and wheels we bought for the old rig?
  • My AF 811 went from my F250 short bed:

    To my 5500 flat bed:

    Using these swing out brackets:

  • Swing out brackets on the front jacks. Perhaps even a spacer with the swing outs. I did on my dually. Dodge/Ram fenders are very wide and extend nearly the entire length of the bed.
Perhaps you will need to do something with the tie down attachment points on the camper as well. Again due to the fenders.

Pics or it doesn't count!!! :-)
