Intercom option: In the event that we need communication between camper and cab, a pair of FRS hand-held radios ("walkie-talkies") work spectacularly, and have all their other uses as well. No dependence on cell service and lots of other uses (hiking, separate shopping, etc) Battery life on standby mode lasts for many hours. Also useful if caravanning with other vehicles to keep in touch. The better ones, set to the long range channels, have ranges up to nearly a mile.
I've had some of those in the past, personally, I rely on my CB for caravan connection, as it has a better range due to the larger aerial.
I'm going vintage, as the Amerigo has the other end, and for $25, I got the end that goes in the cab. Plus, if it stops working, its made of extremely simple components and can be fairly easily repaired.
