The first thing that wouldn't work at most parks is the big rug on the grass. If you are there for a couple of days, that is going to leave nothing but dead grass for all of us who arrive after you leave. Rugs and mats on grass is frowned on most places. Even if there isn't a rule against it, it sure makes for a less pleasant experience for the next people.

We have a 18 x 9 mat. We have one that does not kill the grass. A lot of places will only allow a mat that is easy on the grass. Our set up goes...we put a small 3 x 6 white fold up table set at a low height against the trailer, where your chairs are. We use it like a coffee table and place our chairs on each side, angled. Another white fold up table is where you put your picnic table. We usually cook away from the awning, we don't want to get it dirty. We don't leave anything out, even the BBQ gets put away after it is cooled. Habit from camping in bear country.

I don't see the beer cooler? but If you like it.......its perfect!

Well I certainly would not have a fire within a foot of my trailer!!!!!We don't have any particular layout, we just conform to the site.

I just got back from a long weekend and realized, I did it all wrong. Looks like I'll have to go camping again soon and try to correct myself.

I like most of the others say it is really going to depend on the site. We do use the rug but our sites are at lakes and most of them (here in KY) have gravel or pavement just about even with your entrance door. We try to locate the fire pit & ring away from the underside of the awning.

We got rid of our 'Safe' rug several years ago. It got wet nearly every trip, started to mildew, and it went in the trash.
We make do without one. In our trailer we use something called a broom.
( Actually my wife does ;) )

Seriously??? Have not experienced that yet, but most my camping has been Alberta and BC... Something to keep in mind next time I'm down in the states!

Seriously! Some will have awnings over the table and concrete pads with table fastened down or even the table and benches made of concrete. The parks we have stayed in other states do the same in state & COE.

I've camped in everything from tents to Class A's over the last 30 years, and I have to say that if you took the time to draw a picture, then you are severely overthinking it.

About the only thing constant that I do is I put the table under the kids emergency exit window. I want them to be able to get out in a hurry and even with the table under the window it's about a two foot drop. I have one maybe two chairs next to the door under the awning. The rest just kind of gets moved around to where it needs to be at that time.

Back when I had a real awning, instead of the current useless electric fair weather thing, I would set my table 90 degrees from what you show. When it rained, I could still use the bench next to the trailer. Setting it as you show may allow rain water to stream in.
