Can't find leak

I have a small leak that settles in my "closet" at the front of my camper. We have a Keystone Laredo. I love it, but this is bugging me as I can't seem to find the source. It is not a big leak, just enough moisture to dampen the carpet in the closet area. I have gone on the roof and caulked some areas, but I must not have found the right one...any ideas? The moist side is the inside (adjacent to the bed) corner.
  • Marker lights are notorious for leaking I would give them a good dose of sealant as well.
  • You know, I just looked and I have a outside light that is used for nighttime hook ups...that's probably it! It is in the vicinity of the leak, not exactly, but close enough!!

    Thanks!
  • X2 on marker lights or that light you use for nighttime hookups.
  • Our first trip out both marker lights at the top of the front cap of the trailer leaked like crazy into the wardrobes on each side of the front queen bed. We went out in the rain and duct taped the top of the lights and sure enough the water stopped.

Since then, we have caulked the tops of the lights with clear caulk. Don't really know what we will do when the light bulbs need changing except scrape off the caulk, replace the light, and re-caulk.
  • Good info to know about the marker lights. If I ever have a leak that I can't determine the source I hope I remember to see if there is a marker light nearby! Thanks
  • Sometimes you just have to bit the bullet and have your rig smoke checked. It will cost some money but in the long run it will be cheaper.

I saw at least 5 rigs with whole sides torn off of them because of water damage at my local RV dealer. Get it fixed before you have to have the side or front of your RV torn off.
