OP - when we are seriously considering any floor plan, we spend over an hour inside. Is the TV angle comfortable from where you will sit to watch it? Is the couch deep enough for you, or will your legs go to sleep because the cushions cut off circulation to your legs? Can you get to the bathroom when someone's cooking? Is the bed comfortable? Sit on the commode - is the height comfortable? Check the "wipeability factor" - can you successfully complete bathroom operations? Sit at the dinette table. Can you fit comfortably? Can you still watch TV? Sit on the couch again. Do you need an ottoman? Will it fit? Where will you store it? Bunk beds - do they have a light for each bed? Can the kids get in bed without being contortionists? Think about what you're going to pack/keep in your trailer. Will it all fit? Where will you hang wet towels? Where will you put dirty laundry? How about muddy shoes? Does it have carpet or vinyl flooring? Where will you put the spices? Cooking utensils? BBQ tools? Bottled water? Is there storage under the beds? Under the dinette benches? Are the lights well-placed?
Maybe I should make a checklist...for us, it's all about layout. We can walk into an RV and know within a few minutes if the layout will work for us. Keep looking until you walk into the unit and say "This is the one!"
Happy camping,
Elizabeth
