Canvas on my Truck Camper

Hi,
I have a Palamino pop up truck camper. I was wondering if there is any way to train the canvas to fold in instead of out when lowering the roof. As of now I use the rounded end of a broom stick to push it in, however I still must get up on a stool to push some places in with my fingers before I can completely close and latch the roof.

Thanks Lee
  • Running the exhaust fan makes sense. I will give that a try.
    Thanks!!!

If you have a powered roof vent, are you running the fan on high exhausting out when you lower your roof? That helps a good bit.

Ditto that... works like a charm!

3X that - when we had our Outfitter we would turn on the exhaust fan
close all doors and windows. lower the top slowly, maybe stop a couple of times. never a problem.

  • At the home centers / building supply stores you can buy 1/4" or 1/2" diameter bungee cord in whatever length you need.

I would try wrapping a loop of this bungee cord around the canvas, tie it off an let it pull the canvas in as you drop the top.
  • That is one thing that sold us on our 4WheelCamper. Lightweight bungees side to side at rear ~ couple of feet in from door & up front ~mid-bed. Really helps not having to navigate the outer edges on tiptoes tucking stuff in. Might be possible to make something like that.

    JM2¢ YMMV
