That whole dyno chart is as WOT. Not sure how folks get confused about that.....

Sure enough. ALL dyno charts are at WOT. Otherwise, they'd be pretty much meaningless. It's funny how so many confuse rpm with throttle position. - HybridhunterExplorerUgh.

A GM fanboy thread..... - TacoExplorerThat engine will never be offered from the factory in a truck. But it would make a nice towing engine if they ever did. Well the power would be nice, maybe not so much on the fuel economy.
- travelnutzExplorer IISport45,
Say what? The 457 torque is at approx 1000 rpm! You'd best look closely at the chart again. - Sport45Explorer II

200 hp with your foot mashed to the floor lugging at 1100 rpm isn't going to seem like a tow beast to the driver. But it wouldn't be bad for sure.
200 hp at 1100 rpm takes 955 ft/lbs of torque. That would be pretty beastly to me! The chart actually shows about 100 hp at 1100 rpm, which equates pretty closely to the 457 ft/lb off idle torque the motor is supposed to have.
Yeah, I was looking at the scale on the wrong side of the chart. But the 457 lb-ft of torque isn't anywhere near idle. It takes 100% throttle to get that. :) - catfishmontanaExplorerAlmost as much power as ford had in the 13/14 model year Shelby.

When will it be recalled?!!!
Probably have to get in line behind the latest Cherokee recall. Did you see the latest ? - Ron3rdExplorer IIIGood info. I like the Ford 6.2 too and either of those might be my next truck when I retire the Tundra.

I thought GM was putting a 6.2 in the 2014 or 2015 trucks. Is that not the same engine? I'm guessing not by the prior comments.
"General Motors has officially captured the horsepower crown for mainstream pickup trucks with its 6.2-liter V8. The big mill, available in both the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, comes to market with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, handily outdoing its two cross-town competitors, Ram (5.7-liter V8, 395 ponies and 407 lb-ft) and Ford (6.2-liter V8, 411 hp and 434 lb-ft).
The new GM 6.2 will take a bit of an investment, though. Those that want the extra thrust will need to go with either the LTZ or High Country trims from the Chevy, or the SLT and Denali trims from GMC, which are the two highest trim levels for the respective vehicles. Trim levels aside, if you're in the business of towing, GM has you covered. Optioned with the 6.2-liter V8 and the Max Trailering Package, owners will be able to pull 12,000 pounds, a hugely impressive figure. "
