Cleaner for getting caulking residue off int. wall?

It looks like someone used beige caulking on the interior ceiling wall of the slide to cover up staple holes when installed. It was not wiped off all the way and it is smeared all over. I am trying to think of a way to safely clean it without stripping off the color. I am not sure I would trust goo gone or anything that harsh.
  • If your surface is smooth, you can use a razor blade scraper. Just go slow and steady.
  • 3M makes a caulk remover that is pretty good with painted surfaces. Apply remover to caulk, let soak, and the caulk wipes off with a rag.
  • We have a few of those, too. You might try some Goo Gone. Don't think we've tried mineral spirits, so may give that a try.
  • I always use mineral spirits, so far I've never had any problems. Try a little in a hidden spot first.
