CO and Propane detector ?

Around 4am, our CO / Propane detector went off. I looked at the detector and noticed that it was showing propane, I could not smell any, but I did notice a light sewer smell outside the unit. In the morning, I noticed a metal cap a few sites over and looked like someone put duct tape over the cap. I know the CO / Propane detectors are only good for 5 years, so I am guessing mine is at least 2 years old.

It didn't go off the rest of the trip, but maybe the sewer smell set it off?

Our TT is 2yrs old and the propane detector goes off when we first setup.

We hook up to city water and DW begins to flush the lines to the galley faucets. Even with the propane turned off, the detector starts going off. We open the windows and door and ceiling vent. We even have a fan blowing on it. I sit in my chair hitting the reset button to turn it off for about 15-20 minutes before the led light goes green.

We had the same problem. It would go off randomly in the night. When I checked it there was a label on it that says to replace 5 years from manufacture date. Five years were up so I bought a new exact replacement and installed it. It hasn't gone off since.

Just replaced ours yesterday for the same issue. It was going off with propane turned off all night early in the morning.

You might try using a vac to ensure there is no dust in the sensor area.

The last one we bought said to replace 5 years from date of manufacture. And the date of manufacture was already 11 months old, new and off store shelf. Well "new" to us.

Mine started going off during 3rd season.

I couldn't figure out why my batteries were dieing so fast between trips.

One day I'm walking past as I'm getting the mail and I hear it squealing. Pulled the fuze. Batteries stay charged again.

I've heard of propane detectors going off because the dog laid next to it and passed gas. Took them awhile to figure that one out. So, sewer smell might have done it? They might go off, (not 100% sure) if the battery gets too low.
