My advice is to find a rig with a metal floor, roof and of course sidewall construction. They all leak so this keeps bad things to a minimum. I can't believe they still use wood framing!!
As far as I can tell the only manufacturer that boasts using no wood products in any thing (interior included) is Livin' Lite RV. Not all their models are like this tho. I have not seen one in person but sounds like it could be the way to go.

I started this thread asking if anyone had experience with a Coachmen 246 Rks. I received some nice constructive feedback, and I thank all who contributed. Today I bought the coachmen 248RBS. A thorough inspection revealed a bathroom heating duct not connected, the manual slide houdigit was not connected. Both were fixed before signing papers. All else looked good. Once again thank you to all for advice and assistance. Steve.

My apologies to the OP for getting caught up in frivolous arguments. This will be my last post in this thread as it has gone IMO way off topic for no reason at all..
Actually SoundGuy, I did not mention end caps at all in that statement, I simply stated that they used Azdel in their walls. And if you refer to my original reply I also stated that one should do their own research and draw their own conclusions. In the future how about posting my whole statement instead of just the parts you want to argue about so that everything can be taken in context.... You have done this to me and others in this thread as well as other threads.
Weather you mean to or not you are coming across as being a Troll.

We are talking about frames, the framing is all aluminum not wood.

Agreed.... But SoundGuy knows everything, therefore he will continue to beat this thread into submission. I have given up trying to make that point as he keeps referring to stick framed units. Funny thing is if you read all the posts in this thread, no one including myself argues the point that the end cap is backed with luan.....
