As far as I can tell the only manufacturer that boasts using no wood products in any thing (interior included) is Livin' Lite RV. Not all their models are like this tho. I have not seen one in person but sounds like it could be the way to go.

That is what I have. I know expensive but in my mind over time the better choice. After our 2004 Airstream safari had soft floor issues that was it. All metal or I guess fiberglass like Oliver. Wood should at least be marine grade. O well. Buyer beware. Its the wild west in rv construction.

Maybe just me but all metal top to bottom over time has to be the way to go.. particularly for us, we log over 12k miles annually. If wood was so great for durability then cars trucks planes etc would be using it. It's cheaper so let's accept that fact. But don't. Complain about soft floors or mold or rot. You get what you pay for.

Congrats on your new rig. Just a note make sure that every spring and fall you check all the sealant (roof and walls, all openings) Manufacturers are notoriously light on sealant. Roof vent covers really help as well. Maintanance twice a year should give you many years of dry leak free enjoyment.

Actually SoundGuy, I did not mention end caps at all in that statement, I simply stated that they used Azdel in their walls. In the future how about posting my whole statement instead of just the parts you want to argue about so that everything can be taken in context.... Actually what we were talking about was your statement back on Page 2 of this discussion -

Which I simply pointed out is an "overstatement of fact" ... Azdel is only used in the side walls. I posted a pic of a Coachmen rear wall replacement to demonstrate this fact and was jumped all over because it happened to be an Apex, not a Freedom Express, with the claim that the two brands, both Coachmen, are not the same at all. Point is, they are - both aluminum frame cage, both with Azdel side walls, both with luan front & back walls, and both with lots of wood in the roof, floor, and as backers.

I want it to be known that I am not putting down wood frame construction. My TT is all wood frame which is was a good thing when it came to rebuilding it and modifications that I have made. Wood stick framing will last a long time if the owner is very diligent about maintenance and keeping everything sealed. I will post my repairs and modifications soon so that you all can see.....
