considering buying 2014 JAY FEATHER ULTRA LITE 23f?

We will be camping with a family of 8.( 6 kids) and like the floor plan of this hybrid but are unable to locate one nearby to actually view. Any info on this camper would be greatly appreciated.

I will continue with the unknown mystery of the 'low clearance' I have an 06 Jayco 232 with 3 bunks, no slides and paint still on my rear skid rails. We love having a single step to get into the trailer. If you have a ridiculously steep driveway to approach, take it at angle, it works every time. We have slept up to 10 people in the trailer. We love our storage! We have a full wardrobe and an almost floor to ceiling cabinet. We have used hanging 4 box storage containers to get stuff up off the floor. The bunk covers and reflectics helps a ton in colder weather, also using a ceremic heater. I like being able to hear birds in the morning and rain patter on the roof. The biggy for us is the ventilation in the summer. We run the A/C maybe once or twice a year tops. As others have said, you have to decide if you want to have some areas under tents. We've had 2 hybrids over the past 9 years and never have had a leak issue.

I love my Hybrid..... But buying one for ease of towing is the wrong reason IMO. And storage capacity is always an issue.

If you want a Hybrid, buy one, but knowing what I know after 3 years of ownership, many people can and do hate them.

So in order for it drag on the ground, you have to remove the tires and axles first (or back it over a pretty conisiderable curb). But I have a question, how come someone that has never experienced the problem, is always the first to report of it's existence? You can opt for a 2" suspension lift on most Jayco models, per their website.

We have a Jayco23b. I have had no complaints so far. It does have a very low cargo capacity. Not a problem because there are only two of us.
As to the low clearance so far not a problem and we do a lot of boondocking, dragging the trailer through open fields. Just be aware that you are low in the tail.

We had 5 kids and 2 german shepards and camped in our Bonair popup for 15 years. More often than not friends were also invited along. We towed with a suburban and quite often went away for 2 weeks at a time. Usually only required 1 stop at a laundromat if one was available. It was tight and cramped, but that was part of the fun. It brought us closer together as a family and isn't that the idea of camping. If you have not raised a 1/2 dozen kids you have no clue on how organized a family can be. Get the smallest camper you can get away with and spend time getting to remote and unique locations, the kids will remember these trips forever.

I live in the KC area and the old Nationwide RV dealership in Grain Valley, MO carries the Shamrock line 23SS and 233S. I believe it is now called Camping World as they purchased the property from Nationwide RV. They had a 23SS at the Camping show a couple wknds ago at Bartle Hall. They are about $4-5,000 more than you can buy at RV Direct/RV Wholesalers.

They have 6 kids, still trying to find out how old. Mentioned several times about lack of clothes storage, towels, and what not. I posted pictures of ours, giving a virtual rundown of what camping in a 21 to 23ft hybrid will be like. Sure marketing of sleeps 10, just as our's sleeps 6. I bring a gun along if there are more than four in our box.

We are a family of six. As our boys get older they want to stay in their tent, not the trailer so just something to keep in mind.

I've lived with low riders for 14 yrs with both my present Jayco and past Aerolite. What I have found as the most inconvenience/hazzard is the gas station entrances where some are notorious for having those brutal entrance dips. As long as your driveway is relatively level with the road you should be ok.

On the flip side the low riders are more stable (less sway) when towing.

FYI my present Jayco sleeps 8.

many manufactures make these 3 bed models but i dont know if they actually can store clothes, towels, and food for more than four occupants.

Our 21ft bunkhouse hybrid that sleeps six ( 2 tents, rear perpendicular bunkbed) has one veritical pantry(food/towels) and under bunk storage for clothes. Under no way can a family of 4 pack enough clothes or food for a week ( it maxes out in a weekend). One kid get sick or wet the bed and and nightmare begins. We have extra sheets and linens up on the upper bunk and keep dirty clothes up there.
