Many of us have done both the Dalton and the Dempster, Jeanie and I in 2003. But, there are other options along the way that make both look pretty tame. One is the available 'old road' sections that we took. Another is the road to McCarthy. When you drive over a former railroad grade and find some ties with spikes still sticking out protruding from the road; that's remote.
