I don't know. The old Rangers are really capable Truck Camper carriers; I have not heard of frame damge unlike the Navara/Frontier. That is, if the brakes used on the US model were as good as what the international market got ;-)
People here will do about anything to remain under 3.5 metric tons GVW for legal reasons. You would be astonished what is possible. 7 ft campers are quite common on these trucks.
