Delivery on new F350

Not sure if anyone can help, but I need to rant.

Ordered a new F350 at the beginning of November, told at the time it could be anywhere from 2-6 months, but should set expectation at 3-4 months. OK. Took off for winter thinking it should be in about the time we return at end of February.

Got notice before Christmas that it was scheduled to build at the end of January, everything seemed to be on track. Then notice it started to build, and then on 15 Feb we recieved notice it was built and just waiting on shipping, expected delivery between 25Feb and 3Mar.

All good to that point.

Now it’s coming up on mid-March and the Ford site still says “Built - waiting to arrange shipping which typically takes a couple days and may be up to a week”. It’s been saying that for coming up on 4 weeks!!

Called the dealership last week to inquire and they said “no idea when it will come, they’ll call me whenever it arrives”.

If it’s really just waiting on shipping it’s kind of frustrating as I believe it’s built in KY and I’m sitting here in TN just waiting…

Wonder how much of the supply chain issues were and are caused by semi trucker blockades

Links below are just a few that touches on that topic...

You do know that the Kentucky Ford truck plant is shut down this week for part shortages. They were only able to work one shift last week.

I've heard that the manufacturers are prioritizing commercial vehicle builds over consumer models, probably because they have fewer options and because they address the larger markets for them.

The only way we can help is to quit our jobs, buy semi's and trailers, and haul vehicles. Or, if someone does not want a job on the road, they could get hired to spray bedliners. Or they could get hired to move vehicles around. Or they could build railcars.

Anyone who can order a vehicle, have it assembled, shipped to dealer, and arrive is very lucky.

I am guessing that your dealer may require you to take title (pay or finance) of the vehicle this month, regardless if it arrives. They need to earn a replacement.

I ordered a new F150 King Ranch 3.5 EB, CC, FX4, LB, tow package, tow mirrors, moon roof, adaptive steering, and more on July 30. Told 3-6 months. End of October I get a call from the dealer saying Ford had completed their 2021 builds and mine would need to be reordered as a 2022. I had assumed it was ordered as a 2022 being it was the end of July. And the 3-6 months clock would start over, but he didn’t think it would take that long. Received it December 30. Even with the reorder it was 5 months.

My research shows Ford is trying. Dealers want to complete the sale too. It’s a National issue not one just with you.

We ordered 3 f350’s last March and received them in October… We were originally told Late August from the dealer…

I ordered a new F150 Platinum in October and was told, MAYBE March?? It is SCHEDULED to be built week of 4/3 but I am expecting that to change

EVERYONE is blaming it somehow on COVID…. Thats the reason for ALL the delays, parts procurement.. My 150 at 1 point had 7 holds on it - 4x4…5.0…twin panel moon roof…Adaptive Steering… spray in bedliner… and 1 other I forget…All due to the fact that people do not want to work…

I expect to have my truck built only to sit and wait for a chip…. This should holefull get better once we ( USA ) start to build our own chips… hopefully 2023??????
