Hi all! I am about to order a new Hallmark pop up camper.

Hallmark has been really great at answering my many questions but i thought i’d reach out to the nice people here to double check…. before i place the order.

Did I forget anything?

9.5 foot base, Everest build. (yes, they will do this)

Nova Kool 2 Way Refer AC-DC 7.5CU FT

ALU CAB 270 degree Shadow awning (really want this model - no leg to whack)

Extended “cab over” bed…. with side of the bed storage cabinets

maybe the rear fixed ladder? (unsure of cost) tho no plans to go onto roof…. though the ladder would make cleaning snow and dirt off solar panels much easier when out camping. No good space to carry a regular loose ladder

small single wood step, just below over cab bed, to make getting in and out of over-cab bed easier.

clear rear Hallmark window, adjacent cigarette power outlet, that is switched with a switch there. snap on privacy cover for this rear window.

Extra layer of fabric added inside, (small patches) where hinges rub against the fabric, as long term protection.

Are there 10 LED lights in interior?

Likely add some $50 LED Reading Focus Lights - unsure where??
Maybe get slack on the internal water line that runs to the outside drain valve (and also the outside shower) to make any future repairs easier. (I hear the outside water valve from the tank drain breaks easily, especially in the cold)

Maybe have them add a rubber bumper to the front of the camper, in case it slides forward a bit in the truck bed.

is one Power Roof Fan 3-speed w/ In & Out included? (i think it is)

Differences between rear exterior Ladders : narrow, full, OR off set ($125 any option)

Should I do Bed Line X? Not bother?

Like 2 separate run on Christmas lists!
Zero use for spray in bedliner if the truck is always going to have a camper in it. Toss a rubber bed mat down and you're set.
Maybe add rubber bumpers on front of camper? It's a given that the camper will slide forward until something stops it against the front of the bed. Depending on the length and location of the bumpers and the profile of the front of the truck bed, the bumpers "may" be useless, but a couple boards the right thickness across the front of the truck bed is a sure and common forward stop for the camper.

I have a sprayed in X liner on my 2005 ford ,and theres not a rust spot in it, with just a matt or plastic liner its gonna rust.

Hi midnightsadie

It is my understanding that the current Ford SuperDuty's have an aluminum alloy body - all of it - and so it will not rust at all.

The frame is still steel, but that isnt anywhere near the bed, of course. :)

Man, you are spending a lot of money for what you are getting. Thought about a Class B with 4 wheel drive? I only bring it up because you are going to lose a ton of money on all new if you find out you are wrong. Also, a Class B will allow you to go to sleep on the road without getting out of the vehicle and raising the roof. I seriously can’t imagine fulltiming in a popup TC if you will never use the truck separately and will never tow.

Any way, I’d prefer a LP vs DC for the other fridge option. I’m not sure if 2 batteries will keep up with the fridge. All I’ve heard says DC isn’t very efficient for a fridge, but I’m sure others know more.

to clarify - I am not full timing in the camper. Just lots of nights and trips here and there.

For some reasons I wont go into - a class B doesnt work for us. thanks tho.

and this is our 3rd RV across 8 years, so we now have a great idea of what we like, and how we will use it. ;)

and the 720 watts solar (plus backup generator) will be great for the fridge. Thanks tho.
