Threads are out there. Wasn't long ago I was reading about a guy who's ED was trying to run 3-4k rpms up inclines and some threads about overheating. Like all diesels, they don't run too good at 3-4k rpms. I wouldn't try to tow heavy with one, that's for sure, but it definitely fills a niche for light loads and grocery getters.
