My Aluminum F350 has a carrying capacity of 3322. I am really surprised that the Ram, with the heavier
cast iron engine and steel body, is still a much lighter truck.
What's you GVWR, my SB RAM is 11,700. LB are 12,300. Chris
I just looked at my door sticker. My SRW sb 4x4 crew cab diesel has a carry capacity of 3322 and a gvwr of 11500. The rear axle rating is 7230. I weighed my truck and with 3/4 tank of fuel, B&W hitch and a 215 lb driver the rear axle weighed 3473 lbs. So I will be good on the rear axle rating with up to 3750 lbs of pin weight. If I was worried about staying within the gvwr I'd have to stay under 3050 lbs of pin weight. (Total weight of truck once I add in my wife's weight is 8450 lbs.) How much weight can be added to the Dodge 1 ton SRW rear axle?
