Dodge Ram 3500 SRW Max Payload????

Hi,
I am looking to buy a one ton diesel truck and need a high payload for the trailer I am looking to get. I am pushing the limits of a SRW but really don't want a dually so I want the highest payload I can find with the features I want/need.

The truck will be a crew cab and probably a long bed and I am looking at the Laramie package. I realize that all of these options reduce the payload.

For any of you who have this truck can you tell me what your DOOR STICKER says for max payload (along with whether your truck is a crew cab, etc. The F-350s I have looked at that are similarly equipped are around 3200. I am hoping I can get a bit higher than that.

thanks
Matt

Not really what I was referring to. If one were to load full payload they would be around 7000lb on the rear axle. With the average 18" 10 ply being 3640 per tire that's awful close for me.

I only bring it up because I have approx 800lbs to go before I'm at tire cap and I thought that was close until I started looking close at 3500 SRW specs.

I hear what you're saying, but it's not really a thing. I've been driving pickups day in day out (not currently unless you count the dodge and camper) at or over some capacity for hundreds of thousands of miles. Usually shoe 1/2 tons with E load tires after burning off the factory donuts though because I'm rough on tires sometimes.
I can count on a couple fingers how many flats I've had over the years that weren't from a nail or screw or some other foreign object punched through a tire on a construction site.
Think about the liability tire mfgs would be exposed to if tires popped under the dynamic loading of simply a rated capacity load.......huge.
They'll hold up fine to the rated load, at least. Won't last as long as tires that are rated heavier, but they won't pop.
Now yes, overkill tires provide a greater factor of safety and it depends on your intended use (Rock crawling or pounding pavement?) how likely you are to need it.

If I remember when I get home I will get the number off my truck when I get home. My truck is a Mega Cab but it will be real close to the same weight as a long bed crew cab. If my memory serves me right my payload from the factory is 3,7XX. The Long bed diesel 3500 SRW and Mega cab both have the highest GVWR @ 12,300#. My truck weighs right at 8,500# and mine is a loaded to the max Limited.

This is where people get in trouble looking to tow a 5er!!!

The extra weight is on the front axle with a Diesel. You carry the 5er on the rear axle.

It's called what can the rear axle carry, NOT what is the trucks capacity or what can it tow. That's the real world.

Please don’t confuse logic and fact with rvnet drivel! Lol.
To the OP, sorry don’t have a pic of my door sticker, Never looked at it....
SRW 1 ton = about 4000lbs payload capacity in any of the newer trucks.
Reading Comprehension 101 - The OP said "Payload" and even mentioned "door sticker says for max payload". I assume he already knows how to ignore the payload rating if that is what he chooses to do.

"It's already a crew cab and a long bed so you can't park it up close to the store, or navigate most drive-thru lanes,"

NOT true at all. It will fit just as well as any SRW SB out there, also many go thru the drive thru lanes with Dually trucks so a SRW will be a breeze.

I park close with my Dually when I have a curb available. Without my hips the truck would have fit just fine.
