Did you read this in the Owners Manual of your Cadillac?

Other things to consider if you haven't already done so -
1. Have you considered how you would back up your rig with the car on a dolly.? It might behave a lot better on a trailer.
2. Sounds like you have a pretty nice car. Are you aware that a car can get pretty beat up back there with stones and other road debris. Will your car and/or dolly and/or MH have protection against this?
3. In the final analysis, would you consider an enclosed trailer?

It’s the 8 speed transmission that prevents the XT5 from being towed 4 down.

Normally all wheel drive vehicles can't be "switched off" and become 2 wheel drive. Better check that owners manual very carefully and even call Cadillac to verify. AWD normally means 4 on the trailer for any type of towing.

My luck it would switch off the front wheels. Owners Manual is going to be your best source of info.

The Terrain and Equinox AWD can be towed 4 down providing you get the models with the 6 speed automatic transmission. If you have the models with the 9 speed automatic then they can’t be towed 4 down. My 2015 Ford F-150 AWD could be towed 4 down.
