Durango AirLift Bags

I know very little to nothing about suspension airbags. My 2005 Durango tows my 24ft Funfinder just fine. However, I think it is not quite level enough and part of that is a heavy tongue weight from having a front kitchen and bath.

I found this on line and was wondering if something like this would do the trick. It says for up to 5000 pounds. Is that the total weight of what is being towed?

Open to any opinions or advice. The reason this comes up is I am in the process of getting new rear shocks and this popped into my head.

The Funfinder weighs in at 4300 lbs. with a 600lb tongue weight. I use an Eazlift WDH.

Durango is a 2005 5.7 Hemi 2X4.
  • Spend $15 at a CAT scale to determine what your weights are. That would determine how well your WDH is adjusted and where you stand with respect to all your ratings. IMHO, air bags should not be used for bumper pull trailers.

    You take 3 passes, weights.

    Truck alone
    Truck with TT without WD
    Truck with TT with WD

The goal of a WDH is restore front axle weight. The rear will go up a bit, but how much varies too much to guess. And it really is arbitrary. It is what it is for the front axle is the focus.
