- jefe_4x4ExplorerI don't have a clue how much motorized jacks weigh. I do know that my hand-crank, Happy Jax are about 40 pounds ea. I have the longer bezel model used with 4WD's, especially the Dodge which has the highest bed elevation of the big three. I do know that jack weight is a non-issue with me as the jax are only bolted on when removing the TC from the truck, and not used on the road. The price paid is the manually, or with a H.D. drill driver, cranking the jax up. My bro finally removed his electric jax from his Outfitter, which required cutting the wire power leads going to ea. jack and soldering on slick plug leads for re-attaching. He really whacked his jax on several off-road outings. A bent jack is done. I only have to install the TC maybe 3 times a year and the TC stays on for months at a time now. When I need the pickup, the box comes off.
Of course, everyone knows I'm "King of the Jacks-Off". YMMV.

Turns out that 25 pounds would be the premium for all 4 jacks, at least for my happijacs.
Motor Weight
Some time ago ,when i called and asked, he probably ment to say..per box not per jack. I never really gave it any thought but now that you mention it, 25 lbs per set seems more realistic.
Im just guessing, I would think most of those jack motors are in the same weight ballpark.
AS said, i dont think its worth it to save weight. Once you have motors who wants to crank . - AnEv942NomadThe marginal IMO weight differance between manual/elec. far outweighd by the convienance of electric I think. Thats some serious weight consideration looking between the 2. Seems most Ive noted who were concerend with weight (or other considerations) leave the jacks at home?

Does anyone know how much weight electric jacks add over manual jacks?
Ok, I'll bite. Why are you asking, or even considering manual jacks?
I have read some comments about not using electric jacks not wanting the extra weight. I am looking for my first truck camper and just didn't know how much weight the electric jacks added.
Imo if the weight of the jacks is going to be an issue then you either need a smaller camper or a bigger truck.
What camper are you looking at and what kind of truck do you have? - zcookiemonstarExplorer
