Welcome from Rhode Island.
I don't have electric, but my hand stabs, I crank them til the touch then about 2 turns more. The key, keep even pressure. It is easy to twist a trailer and then you can't open and close a door(s).
Fresh water sanitizing is needed every spring, and maybe once during the year, depending on usage. 1/4 cup bleach solution for every 10 gallons of capacity. If it is bad, maybe doubling. Let it sit in all the lines overnight. Then flush. I would bypass the Hot Water Heater, like it was winterized. My 2 cents.
