Mine are also manual, I let them down until snug then turn about 1 extra turn, they are not for leveling, just stabilizing, I also cut 2X6 18 inches long and place this down for the legs, I put a coffee cup type screw in the ends of my boards and took a piece of dowel rod and put a coffee cup screw in it, I don't have to bend to pick up or set in place that way and it save my old knees and back.
