Entry Door Fram out of Square

1993 Sun light Pop up. My man cave nag free zone! The door frame is out of square. Door closes OK but screen door does not. I straightened bent hindges but Al is not forgiving. How to square up door? I see a 1/2 inch PCV stripe on either side of the frame. Any one have a similar problem? Suggestions?
  • Ya might be easier to rack camper...
1/2" pvc- screw cover around exterior perimeter? I'm not sure pulling the door frame and shimming square if it would not return back to where it was once screws reinstalled. Never had ours off so don't know if there's any gap around or between frame and camper to move/shim.
If the main door closes not sure worth while. Could shave the screen frame, or possibly a turnbuckle brace to pull the screen if not far out?

  • Screen door hinges were bent via some idiot (me) closing garage door on top of it. Frame was always out of square. I did bend them back almost OK but looking for permanent repair. Too bad there is no way to reposition hinges. Today thinking I could turn door around, reposition door and reinstall hinges; drilling new holes. Maybe???
  • I wouldn't turn the door around. You could fill the holes with epoxy or similar and redrill the holes for the hinges though.
  • Don't call it the "Nag Free Zone" in front of wife and she may stop screwing with it!! LMAO
  • If the door fits and seals OK maybe it was always that way and you just noticed since the screen door incident . Perhaps try racking the screen door so it also fits .
  • Sorry guys. The problem I left out is that the latch side is rubbing on the threshold. It has been that way probably since new. Yes Jim I could redrill the holes. Option 1. AnEv there is not much room to pay with it. So Option 2 may or may not work. Looks like I am to have to tweak the hinge more. Then there is the option of grinding off the bottom or reworking the saddle.
