Evergreen IGo trailers

Hi,

We are shopping for our first trailer, came across the Evergreen IGO G235RB, which looks like a new floor plan this year. We have been to several RV shows, but there are not any dealers close by that carry them, so we know nothing about them.

Is there anything that sets the Evergreen IGOs apart from other brands, like Keystone passport, for example? I know that any brand, and any trailer can have problems, but is Evergreen in better or worse than others? I know that some Evergreen models use composite material, but doesn't appear that is true for the IGO line.

thank you,
Don

  • Can't tell where you live, but the IGO, when we looked at them back in 2012, did not have any kind of ducted heat from the furnace which was a big "no deal" for us. The furnace literally looked like the one in our old pop-up camper. The dealer, Hilltop Trailer Sales in Mpls, couldn't explain why Evergreen did that with for the furnace and they seemed just as disappointed with the design. In fact, the following year or so they stopped selling them.

The other draw back for us was the narrower design. For some who don't want the space it might be appealing but not for us.
  • Might check here. There are some iGo owners here.

  • My Evergreen Ascend has a 'fiberglass" roof, does the keystone? also they use Azdel which is less likely to delaminate vs fiberglass, does the keystone?

  • We looked at the same model when shopping late last year. While we actually have a local multi-brand dealer that carries Evergreen, they had no IGOs on the lot but could order. So, we took a trip to Salem, VA to look at them as that was the only dealer within 500 miles to have IGO models. The only thing that impressed me about them was the true cage construction with the aluminum roof members joined to the wall framing with welds. Other than that, their quality was on-par with the price point. The dealer was willing to sell the 2015 G235RB to us for $18.9K, which was a really good price as optioned. However, the overall camper didn't really check-off our list of must haves. We ended up with much more in a similar floorplan (Wildwood Heritage Glen 232IS) for not much more money. Good luck to you!
