I do the smell and look test as I start to fill. Better than ending up on the road waiting for a tow truck with a 35 ft alpenlite . Done that once on I-10.

As to OP stated it was a mistake by the fuel delivery guy who dumped gas into the diesel storage tank. Depending on the amount of diesel that existed in the tank before the gas dumped into it, your most likely not going to smell the gas. Half a tank of "unknown" percentage of diesel/gasoline mix added to half a tank of diesel, may be small enough not to cause serious issues. At least, it would play havoc on the sensors (reason for the EVIC symbol and "limp mode") like O2 sensors, SCR filter and/or DPF filter. More gasoline would cause more "rattle" form the engine - if OP noticed more noise - park truck and get it flushed. Higher concentration will destroy a engine fast.
Best thing the OP can do is park the truck and have it towed to dealer for a fuel system flush/clean.
