- GulfcoastExplorerI'm going with Pacbrake... that's for the replies.
- crcrExplorerI have a PacBrake on my 2004.5 Ram, former owner installed it. However, I have nothing to compare it to as this is my first vehicle with an exhaust brake, but it has been great! Pulling a 7500 lb TT down long mountain roads, I seldom ever have to use the service brakes.
Good luck with your choice! - wilber1ExplorerPacBrake and BD are made within 30 miles of each other. Only the old 12 valve Cummins needed stronger valve springs.
- alboyExplorerHad the p brake on my 06 3500 srw pulling a 15 k fiver, loved it ,seldom used the trailer brakes, set it on cruise and go.
- Grit_dogNavigatorPretty much needs to be hooked into the Ecm regardless of brand. Otherwise it would require constant attention and be more likely to be damaged or cause damage.
- memtbExplorerI had a PAC Brake on my ‘97 Cummins....and was pleased with it’s performance!
- GulfcoastExplorerConnect to pin 42... I can do it.

What I would like is the simplest one to wire up. Not sure I want to get into the ECM wiring. I can do it, but I rather not have too.
Well PacBrake requires inserting one wire into the ECM connector. - GulfcoastExplorerWhat I would like is the simplest one to wire up. Not sure I want to get into the ECM wiring. I can do it, but I rather not have too.

Put a BD brake on about 6 years and 60k ago. No issues, works great.
Compressor works well for airbags and bike tires. Plumbed a valve and air hose into the air line to the brake.
The PacBrake also come with an On Board Air. With my 2001 5 speed manual, empty I could almost bring the truck to a stop with just the EB, in not much more distance than with service brakes.
