I've installed a couple of the PacBrakes. They work great. I'm just up I-80 from you, let me know if you need help with the installation.

Hey thanx!
Experienced help would be great.
I noticed that CW has the turbo mount PacBrake on sale for club members for $670.00 not sure if that's a full kit or not.

Jim,
$670 is a great price for the Pac if it is the full kit. I paid somewhere around $950, and that was through a TDR member who was a Pac vendor at the time.

I know it's always better done by someone else.

Thanx for the replies.
Looks like the Pac will work.
Seeing a lot more brake dust now that we are towing heavier and more often.
The slope down from Donner Summit is taking a toll on brakes it seems.

Is installing one moderately easy by say the do it myselfer?
I know it's always better done by someone else.
Was just wanting to keep the cost down.
Maybe I can get the young guy next door to help me.
I'd have to do it outside on the driveway the weather right now is perfect.

It's not a bad job at all but use the one that replaces the elbow. It activates faster because it doesn't have to build pressure in the piping. It's also easier to put in.
Just make sure to follow the directions exactly including unhooking the batteries.
Oh and I recommend the Pac Brake because it has fewer failures than the Jake and has better braking at lower RPM's.
