And a rear GAWR of 4800#, just like the 2011-2015 HD Payloads.
Guess those 6 lug HD wheels and LT-C tires can handle it.
It also has the Ford's new trailer backup knobby "PRO TRAILER BACKUP ASSIST".
But not much of a discount yet. Maybe later in the summer just before the 2017s appear. Hanna Motors can get pretty aggressive in its pricing.
Good point on the small 4800 RAWR carrying a 2900 lb payload. That means the truck rear axle has to weigh just 1900 lbs.
Close. The base rear axle curb weight for this configuration is 1868#. And it's max payload is 3060#.
Another point is There is no F150 that can handle a 2900 lb payload in the bed. Doing so will overload the trucks 4800 RAWR/rear suspension/wheels.
The F150 4800 RAWR can carry up to around 2400-2500 in the bed over the rear axle.
This is all in Ford's 2015 source book.
This particular truck has a payload only 116# less than the Max 3060# possible. Say half of that excess option weight falls on the rear axle: 58#
So the actual rear axle curb weight would be 1868+58=1926#
That leaves 4800-1926=2874# available on the rear axle.
Not too shabby for a "half-ton". But really, even 2400-2500# is not too shabby.
