"The Drive" being a reputable, respected news outlet and all...
Back as early as grade school the English teacher would show us a picture and tell us to write a story about it. This "The Drive" story sounds like something from one of those exercises. No names, no details, just a "story" that could be easily written by simply looking at the picture and drawing your own conclusions.
