Faded front decals

I posted this under the Keystone Bullet Premier thread but I thought I would share it for all who have faded and cracked front end/cap decals.

My solution: forget the expensive replacements from the manufacturer. Keystone wanted over $175 of my hard earned money for a decal that was junk the day it was applied at the factory. And they wouldn't give me a decal to apply myself, of course.

So, Amazon was the answer for just under $60 for this beautiful US Flag and eagle:

I'm in the process of stripping mine off and replacing it with a Renogy 100W flexible solar panel. (Only weighs 5lbs) I'll post a picture when I'm done.

I have had a great experience with all my other decals with regular 303 protection applied. My front stripes from the factory look brand new just like all my other decals. It was only the "BULLET" front decal that started cracking and fading right away.

I am seeing more And more white RVs with all decals removed. Once the eye get used it, a vast improvement. Why pay to advertise the manufacturer?

Wraps are becoming popular. Painting is just as effective and a lot cheaper.

I have a 2004 vintage boat and each year I remove more and more graphics. I have taken some off a travel trailer. A bad decal is much worse than no decal.

That along with the wind abrasion seems to suggest that anything other than actual airbrush/paint is not going to last long term. My front decal went south at around 7 years and I'm just going to leave it plain. All the decals on the sides and back are fine, it's just the front that didn't hold up.

Love it. Way better than paying to advertise for the company that you already paid to advertise for. Great upgrade and you saved some cash.

What did you do to remove the old decal and how tough was it?

It was actually pretty easy. I used a de-striping wheel made by 3M. You attach it to your drill:

3M Stripe Off Wheel 07498, 4" Diameter x 5/8" Width, 3/8" Mandrel, Beige (Pack of 1)
