Fantastic fan

Hi all
I have been tossing around the idea of installation of fantastic fan on my last few RV. Now that we have one will keep for a bit
I was hoping to hear any feedback from benefits and installation issues, power ect.I. Assume you would use an existing air vent?

One thing no one has mentioned is that factory installed vents can only be out flow vents on most tc. This a DOT rule. Something to do with the plumbing vent pipes and proximity to air vent on the roof. With the size of a tc roof it is hard to get enough distance between the vent pipe and the vent.
I have two Fantastic vents with air flow in and out. That is the advantage of after market installation.

I just put two in, one in the slide-in and one in the fifth-wheel, easy to do, the slide-in was a metal roof and the fifth-wheel was the rubber roof, just had to be more careful on the fifth-wheel installation, took about 1/2 hour on each roof. I bought both at campworld for $150 each, I got the 1250 model which has the reverse switch on it.

Just put a Fantastic vent in our LQ trailer, in the bathroom. It replaced the useless existing fan. The camper came with Maxx-Aire covers already installed, so I just used that with the F.V. A big improvement in moving air through the camper at night. It's a pocket door, so it stays open most of the time anyway.

With that success, I just bought a similar model for the TC, but will be installing it in place of the non-powered roof vent in the dining area, instead of the bathroom... didn't want to leave the bathroom door open at night. I just dropped the trim on the existing vent today (wanted to see how difficult it would be to run wires). I was surprised to see power wires already there in the box... on a 1995 model Lance!

If we get a couple of clear days, I'll be starting that project next. I did pop for the Fantastic Vent cover for this installation, to maximize whatever air flow is available. It is silly that these plastic vent covers cost this much. But, we have a trip planned with the TC in August, so I'm sure we will appreciate the benefits of the improved ventilation.

I got ours on Amazon along with the vent cover. LOVE IT!
I don't have model # etc, but it is the one with remote, thermostat, rain sensor deal-e-o. So nice not to be a total slave to the grid. (of course, I'll take the AC power when I can get it!)

Have two fantastic fans, one in the bath, one over the bed. Both with smoke colored Max Air II covers. The covers prevent the fan from opening all the way, but they still move a lot of air.

We have the manual on/off, three speed, with the reverse switch. Most times we have one moving air in, while the other moves air out. Which one is reverse vs. forward depends on the orientation of the camper. We us the over the door clothes hanger brackets, from bed bath & beyond, for hanging wet coats on the inside of the bathroom door on hangers. To prevent the bathroom door from being sucked in by the fan, we just slide the bracket to the edge and it holds the door open ~6".

The fantastic fan also comes with other options you might consider. We have a double pane, smoked colored dome, on each, which seal well. Warmer during the winter, less condensation on the inside of the dome during spring and fall. Dark color makes it easier to sleep during the summer.

Max Air cover does a good job of keeping the rain out. They don't do as good a job of keeping out cold, blowing snow, if the dome is open.

Good one ms trailgranny50. I thought the bathroom might not be good because the door is usually closed so the benefits would be minimal

We just replaced the old 12v vent fan in the bathroom of our '90' model Shadow Cruiser with a Fanatic Fan manual 3 speed reversable. Have to leave the door open for sure on anything past low, but oh baby turn it on medium or high, pen the escape vent over the bed only about 1-1 1/2" and in not extreme nighttime temps that puppy swirls the coil air around the bed and our the back. Blanket required if you're a heat lover. Me, I'd rather have a cold nose and cover up than be hot! But that's just an old, fat, post menopausal woman who's internal thermostat was set at birth in Michigan, in March! We did install the Max Air cover made for this fan as my memory doesn't always kick in on closing that obscure, well hidden vent every time. Insurance is better than repairs.
