Farewell Message...Final Post

We sold our camper today. It was very sad watching it being pulled out of the drive for that last time. 😞
I just found out a few weeks ago that I have terminal cancer...3 to 6 months to live. Suddenly priorities have been rearranged, and camping didn't make the 'must do' list.
Anyway, don't feel badly for me because I'm still feeling good and will totally enjoy the time I have left.

I spent well over an hour with the couple who bought our camper and simply amazed and overwhelmed them with my knowledge of my rig and my ability to 'educate' them during our walk through. Remembering back when we got our first camper, like them we knew NOTHING about weight distribution, towing capacity, camper maintenance...NOTHING. Everything we learned, we learned from the good folks at RV.net. I am grateful for this site and don't know how I would have done without it!
I made sure to jot down the name of this site, and the new owners are anxious to join. Thank you all again for the knowledge and wisdom you so unselfishly share with the entire camping community.

Tom, I am so sorry to learn of your illness. I can only say that I will pray for you and ask that the Almighty reach out His hand and keep you near to Him. May God be with you and your family in this time of trial. The road to Calvary is difficult, but the rewards are great. Farewell sir.

Karma has a way of helping each of us through difficult times.

Tom - Stay strong... Go see Newlin Martin and my sister Donna Kay and have some coffee with them. I'm sure you will know Newlin already from the Martin Food Stores there in Effingham. Donna and Newlin have made many runs to Fla over the years in their fifth wheel and just recently sold it too haha... Now their vacation house they just bought down that way is being threatened big time by the storm surge this week... Tell them Roy Ken from Bonnie Ill sent you...

Classic dude... I also have enjoyed and benefited from your knowledge over the years. Just the fact that you made the time and effort to make sure new owners knew how to safely operate the unit shows your true character. May God bless you and your family. Make every day count.
