The answer to your question is "Yes". For whatever reason, a F-150 with no suspension upgrades and the V-8 has a considerably higher GVWR than the Eco 2.7 with no suspension upgrades. Suspension upgrades are available for both but the difference is maintained. This was never intended to be a V-8 versus V-6 argument, just a report of the greatly increased Payload numbers on recent F-150's. All F-150's.
