While I agree that you should check your setup, there is a HUGE difference between a passenger vehicle (expedition) and a heavy duty truck (F250). Simply put, the HD truck is made for hauling and towing.

When I upgraded from a 1/2 to a HD truck years ago, there was a huge difference. I am a Dodge fan, and there is a huge difference structurally between the 1500 and 2500/3500 configuration. While the outside body make look similar, internally, there's lots of differences.

Both trucks had plenty power, but the HD just feels way more solid.

Thanks for all the assistance fellas. I went to a Reese dealer today. They said to go back to square one and reset the hitch to my Expy from scratch. As for the tongue weight issue, I've been aware of that and have been trying to keep the heaviest stuff centered over the axles the best I can. My cousin (who I bought the trailer from) took the spare tire rack off the back in order to mount a bike rack. They needed a home for the spare tire so they put it under the bed up front. I've since taken it out of there thinking it was a bad idea to put that extra weight on the tongue. It really doesn't have a home at the moment. I'm going to leave it on the floor in the kitchen area for the road trip. Once we reach our destination and set up I will find somewhere else to keep it.

I use the Reese dual cam as well. 5 links under tension is the minimum recommended for trunion bars such that the cams do not hit the frame when turning. The other option for more WD to front axle is to increase the tilt or hitch head angle.

But do not arbitrarily adjust. Start over. Unhitch, measure height of front wheel well at highest point. Drop tongue on the hitch, measure again, it should go up. Then apply the WD bars and measure front height again. Your goal is to make the unhitched height match the with WD bars height.

The dual cam system is a picky about being adjusted well such that the detents in the WD bars are centered over the cam lobes when going straight. When it's off, 60mph is scary. This video and instruction were helpful to me when I made some changes to my prior TV and then readjusted for new TV. Basically, drive aroudn with the cam arm nuts loose, a couple figure 8s, straight for 100', then tighten the nuts.

6500 pounds empty (MFR dry) could be 8k pounds with 1200 pounds of tongue weight. not that your is, but that is pushing the rear axle and receiver limits.

The trailer is 6500lbs empty, add in the propane and other "stuff" and its probably about 7200 to 7300lbs. The Expy should be able to handle that. If the picture posted, you can see the nose it still up a bit. I was using the 5th link of the chain on the dual cam, should I up it to the 4th?

My 03 F-150 was rock solid towing my TT at about 34" tongue to rear bumper with the bike rack pulled out. It's all about the WDH adjustment.

Read this. The front axle weight (or estimate by fender height) needs to return to unhitched weight. The rear will sag a little, maybe 1.5" if the front is adjusted well. Rear suspension design (indepentend/coil springs) has nothing to do with how much weight it can carry. That's just spring rates.

Not all 30' TTs are the same. Mine is 6500-7000 pounds loaded. Some are over 10k pounds loaded. You need to understand how much yours weighs as the receiver, payload, and rear axle weights may be over their ratings with a 30' TT.

I tow a 30 foot with mine and do not have the bounce you are talking about. Sounds like your hitch is not setup correct.

And my setup is an '04 Expy pulling a 6200# Kodiak using the Reese DC. Same as Svichera, very little rear sag (1/2" to 3/4"), front is back even with 800# bars, and a tongue weight of 820#.

edit: this is what happens when you cross-read threads... I removed a section; I still think your tongue weight may not be in the 12%-15% range, causing the driving feel.

I use a 2008 navigator without air suspension to pull a 35 foot 7000lb passport. I use a reese dual cam and once properly set, the truck returns to unhitched front height and the rear only sags 3/4 inch. A good hitch with sway control properly adjusted makes a huge difference.

The hitch was never set up for the F250. I bought the trailer off my cousin who also had an Expy. The dealer set the hitch up for her truck. When I bought the trailer she gave me the hitch with it. Her Expy is a '12, mine is a '07 virtually the same vehicle.
