First trip with the new TT

Spey Rod, I believe what most folks are missunderstanding is that they believe that your picture which includes your gun/knife is that it means that you leave them laying around so that the kids could accidentally injure themselves. I believe that you put them on the table in order to include them in the picture and then put them back in your holster/pocket. I believe that you are aware of any possible dangers to your children that may be in that area and that you are mitigating those risks as you see fit. You obviously care about your children in that you are not using the weapon as they do not have the proper hearing protection (unless of course there were a valid reason such as an unwanted mountain lion showing up). The problem with posting pics of this type is that you will definitely get a variety of opinions based upon the assumptions that are made from a split second in time. Thank God we live in a country that we are all free to express our opinions which will most certainly vary based upon the area of the country in which we are raised and what is our own social norm.

We prefer to eat organic free range wild game. We like to know where our food comes from. We respect our environment and each other. We choose not to cast dark assumptions on others just because of our own personal bias.

I hear you . I posted a picture of my son,and I shooting my AR on my Facebook page, and I though half my friends were going to *#&* their pants. Funny how the media brain washes folks. My Dad took me out in the woods at 14, handed me his 12ga. , and said have fun, just don't shoot in my direction. That was all the safety lessons I received, rest was common sense, but we don't have much of that around anymore.

If this was directed towards me, let me say I don't have an "objectionable opinion of firearms". I just don't think eight year olds, regardless of how well brought up they are, should be able to easily access them. They are no more suited for this physically, emotionally or mentally than they are to using fireworks, power equipment, sharp knives, etc.
This opinion does not come from watching left wing television. Not everything is political.

I agree with krobbe. The scene is the focus not the firearm. I also carry one and fought my kids to shoot. Lets get life back in focus.

I find it unsettling that the focus of this thread turned to some people's objectionable opinion of firearms when the gun was a miniscule part of the overall photo. What I see is a beautiful view from a sitting area with the photographers favorite outdoor things. Then another photo of his cherished child participating in an outdoor experience. I think fear of firearms is directly proportional to the amount of left wing television one watches. People, Turn Off the TV and get outside!
