If this was directed towards me, let me say I don't have an "objectionable opinion of firearms". I just don't think eight year olds, regardless of how well brought up they are, should be able to easily access them. They are no more suited for this physically, emotionally or mentally than they are to using fireworks, power equipment, sharp knives, etc.
This opinion does not come from watching left wing television. Not everything is political.
