Hard to believe that the first 7.3 was only 185 horsepower. Was also IDI (In Direct Injection) and non turbo for those who were not paying attention to diesel powered trucks back in the late 80's.:...

You got that right.
A 7.3L PSD, 2001 vintage with 175k miles sells for 12k-14k, usually upper end of that range.
A 6.0L PS, 2003-4 vintage with 150k miles goes for around 9-11k, asking prices.
Both for 4x4 crew cab varieties, asking prices on Craigslist.
Kind of telling.
