- wanderingaimlesExplorerOOOOOps,
Sun went behind a cloud,,,,,,,,
Sorry, had to do it,,,,, :D - LwiddisExplorer IIJust do it right and Ford will be fine.
- Campfire_TimeExplorerThis doesn't surprise me. It was ambitious for any of the big 3 to promise rapid rollout of electric trucks. Right on the heels of Mary Barra predicting mass electrification of cars will take decades.

I hear ya. Just the commercials looked like they had a prototype fairly close.
GM and Ford combined are only expecting to produce 320,000 EV’s total by 2026. Haven’t heard anything on what Fist/Chrysler is doing although that is headquartered in Europe now.
I think Rivian is closest for a truck with Tesla probably close behind...if they get another factory built.- wanderingaimlesExplorer

Ahhh Lordstown. They fly under the radar a bit. Thanks for the link.- GrooverExplorer III saw somewhere that Ford could only produce 50,000 Mach E's the first year due to battery constraints. I am sure that the truck will need many more.

Probably triple. But they may be available from northern European and Chinese sources. Both regions are building huge capacity in batteries. Tesla is increasing capacity by 70 percent in North America but some of that will go to the semi. More announcements will be made on Tesla’s Battery day which should be in the next 4 to 6 weeks. The thing with Tesla is some of that capacity goes to their grid storage projects and power walls, that and half a million cars a year not including Tesla China.
I suspect at some point Ford will build a battery factory...somewhere.- free_radicalExplorer

Tesla was smart to build batery factory first then cars to have plenty
On hand
I think Ford GM never expected Tesla being in such demand and now its hard to catch up
And I think they are stil waiting to see how Cybrtrk will do before comiting to own EV truck.
With half a milion preorders Tesla will do awesome imo free radical wrote:

I think you are right although I’m willing to bet half of the reservations were just made as place holders. My wife has a cybertruck reservation just in case we go back to the small trailer camping lifestyle. Time will tell.
I think ford will have a market though, lots of faithful f150 drivers. I’m kinda surprised they are risking losing some of their market share to others though. I would think getting an E F150 on the road would be a higher priority.
