Ford vs Ram vs Chevy diesels
TFL Truck tested them all towing 12,000# 5ers at a Ford press event. All 3 had 3.73 axles according to Ford. VIDEO Time to climb the 7% grade: Ford 2:36 Ram 2:45 Chevy 2:50

I just thought the V8 would pull the grade better
I guess you really see the difference in torque
It was a relatively light load at 12000 pounds and the ram was sort of winded keeping 60mph
I need to buy a truck, I wish the ram had more HP or the Ford had a better interior
The Chevy and Ram have about the same horsepower. Horsepower is what counts. I would expect it to be a toss up with the Chevy and Ram. It all depends which has the gear that best fits the hill.
The Ram only beat the Chevy by 5 seconds. Not much to brag about.
With the method of measuring the time the times could be off by a couple seconds.
If I was Ford I would be a little embarrassed that I only beat the Ram by less than 20 seconds and had a 50+ horsepower advantage.
I doubt they were towing 12,000 lbs. I have a 5th wheel that has a GVW of 11,600 but the dry weight is 7148.
